The Koreanskt Kulturcenter in Sweden is hosting the '2024 Korean Food Cooking Contest' on Friday, 22 November, 2024. We look forward to the interest and participation of everyone who loves Korean cuisine!

1. Contest name: 2024 Korean Food Cooking Contest  - 'Kimchi Cook-off'

2. Theme: My signature dish made with Kimchi

3. Schedule:

  ▸︎ Preliminary Round: Submit the form by 6 November (Wednesday), 17:00

        (Results will be emailed to all applicants within two weeks of the application deadline.)

  ▸︎ Final Round: 22 November (Friday), 16:30-18:30

4. Eligibility

  ▸︎ Open to individuals who love and enjoy cooking Korean food 

  ▸︎ Exclusions: Professional chefs, Korean nationals, and individuals under 19 years of age

5. How to participate 

  ▸︎ Fill out ‘2024 Korean Food Cooking Contest Application Form’ for the preliminary round. 

  ▸︎ You can find the form in the attached file. 

  ▸︎ Submit it via email to ey.cho@kkultur.org.

  ▸︎ Only applications received by 17:00 on Thursday, 31 October 2024 will be considered valid.

6. Guidelines

  ▸︎ Create your own signature dish made with/by Kimchi.

  ▸︎ Kimchi must be used as a main ingredient. 

  ▸︎ Dishes must be prepared from scratch. Pre-made or store-bought items are not allowed, except for sauces, condiments, Kimchi. (Store-bough Kimchi will be provided during the final round.)

7. Final round

  ▸︎ Date and time: 22 November (Friday), 16:30-18:30

  ▸︎ Time limit: 60 mintues to prepare and cook

  ▸︎ Servings: Submit 2 servings(tasting and presentation)

  ▸︎ At the final round,basic sauces and condiments(Gochujang, Doenjang, Ganjang, etc), Kimchi and steamed rice will be provided. 

  ▸︎ More detailed information regarding the final round will be separately sent to those who pass the preliminary round.

9. Prizes

  ▸︎ 1st Place: 8,000 SEK

  ▸︎ 2nd Place: 4,000 SEK

  ▸︎ 3rd Place: 2,000 SEK

       All finalists will receive a commemorative gift.
