synopsis
After spending time in a mental institution, two devoted sisters return to their father's and cruel stepmother's home. Once there, in addition to dealing with their stepmother's obsessive, unbalanced ways, an interfering ghost also affects their recovery.
A Tale of Two Sisters (장화, 홍련) is a 2003 South Korean psychological horror-drama film written and directed by Kim Jee-woon. The film is inspired by a Joseon dynasty's folktale entitled "Janghwa Hongryeon jeon (장화홍련전)."
