To motivate Korean language and culture learners in Sweden and support outstanding students through a scholarship program, we are pleased to announce the "2025 King Sejong Institute Korean Speech Contest"

1. Overview

▪Event Name: 2025 King Sejong Institute Korean Speech Contest

▪Organizers: King Sejong Institute at the Korean Cultural Center in Sweden, King Sejong Institute in Gothenburg (Co-hosted)

▪Date & Time: Saturday, 17th May 2025, 14:00 - 16:00

▪Venue: 1st Floor, Koreanskt Kulturcenter (Kungsholmsgatan 23, 112 27 Stockholm)

▪Program: Speech Contest, Presentation by the previous year's winner (My experience with cultural activities in Korea), Award Ceremony, Korean Food Experience

2. Eligibility

▪Korean language learner residing in Sweden

※ Important Note

▫︎Native Korean speakers and those with native Korean-speaking parents are not eligible to participate in the contest.

▫︎Only winners with prior enrollment history at a King Sejong Institute are eligible to participate in the Korean cultural experience program in Korea.

▫︎A winner from the general public (prospective learners) category must enroll in a King Sejong Institute course (online/offline) after the speech contest to qualify for the cultural experience program in Korea.

3. Awards (subject to change)

▪1st Place:

  ▫︎A cultural experience program in Korea (including airfare and accommodation, approximately one week)

  ▫︎Free admission to a Korean language course at King Sejong Institute in Gothenburg for the 2025 autumn semester

▪2nd Place: SAMSUNG Galaxy Book4 Laptop

▪3rd Place: SAMSUNG Galaxy Tab A9

▪All Participants: Korean cosmetics set

4. Preliminary Round Details

▪Topics: Choose one of the following:

   ▫︎ My favorite Korean expression and why

   ▫︎ The most memorable class at King Sejong Institute

▪Speech Length: 2 to 5 minutes
