K-kulturens anda: Introduction to Korean Temple Food
- Post Date01.04.2026
The Korean Cultural Center in Sweden is presenting a special lecture on Korean temple cuisine in April 2026 as part of the theme “ROOT: Our Foundation”, highlighting the deep roots of Korean food culture.
The lecture, titled “Where Does This Food Come From?”, will introduce the history and philosophy of Korean temple cuisine, its ingredients and cooking methods, and the reasons why it is gaining global attention today. A tasting program will also be offered, allowing participants to experience the delicate and profound flavors of Korean temple food firsthand.
The lecture will be led by Venerable Beopsong, head monk of Yeongseonsa Temple in Daejeon. Venerable Beopsong has actively promoted the traditions and spirit of Korean temple cuisine both domestically and internationally, and has also lectured on Korean temple food at Le Cordon Bleu in France and the UK.
Through publications such as A Table with Nature, A Table with the Sea, and A Table with Roots, she has consistently introduced the philosophy and seasonality of Korean temple cuisine.
We welcome the participation of anyone interested in traditional Korean food culture, well-being, and sustainable eating practices.
